Custom Sneaker Workshop

The Custom Workshop · Decon Recon · Intensive adult session · Brussels

Turn an ordinary pair of sneakers into an exceptional piece at this intensive Decon/Recon customization workshop in Brussels, in an exclusive limited-spot format. You dive into the world of custom artisans and master their techniques — deconstruction, assembly, stitching, painting and finishing — to create a truly unique sneaker with your own hands.

No experience in shoemaking, sewing or design is required. Only the desire to create something that looks like you.

The Decon/Recon technique: what is it?

Decon/Recon (deconstruction/reconstruction) is the most complete and demanding sneaker customization technique: you take an existing pair apart, rework every component — upper, sole, lining — then rebuild an entirely rethought shoe. It is the method used by professional custom artisans to produce pieces with collector value.

Full 5-day workshop program

Day 1 — Decoding materials

Full-grain leather, technical canvas, mesh: learn to identify, choose and prepare each material according to the desired result. Understanding the material already means understanding the shoe.

Day 2 — Cutting & assembly

Precision, templates and controlled gestures: the fundamentals to obtain clean, solid pieces true to your design. Cutting is the foundation of any professional result.

Day 3 — Machine stitching & hand finishing

Saddle stitch, topstitching, delicate assemblies: master the sewing techniques that separate a good result from an artisan-level result.

Day 4 — Colors, details & signature

Acrylic leather paints, special effects, embroidery or patches: this is where your pair becomes yours. Give it a unique character and a strong visual identity.

Day 5 — Assembly & reveal

The final moment: put every element together, watch your creation come to life before your eyes… and leave with your pair on your feet.

FAQ — Frequently asked questions about the Decon/Recon workshop

What is the Decon/Recon technique applied to sneakers?
It is the process of completely deconstructing an existing pair of sneakers, followed by rebuilding it with changes to materials, shapes and finishes. It is the most advanced technique in shoe customization.

Do I need to bring my own sneakers?
No. A donor pair is selected and provided for each participant. You start directly on a base suited to the technique being taught.

Do I need to know how to sew or work with leather before coming?
No prior skills are needed. The workshop is designed to take you from zero to professional techniques, step by step, over 5 days.

Is the equipment provided?
Yes, entirely. Cutters, punches, brushes, templates, sewing machine and materials are available for the whole duration of the training.

How many participants are there in this workshop?
The format is exclusive, with a deliberately limited number of spots to guarantee individual guidance and real progress for everyone.

Is the workshop recognized or certified?
A mastery certificate is awarded at the end of the 5 days, attesting to the skills acquired in Decon/Recon customization.

Why choose this sneaker customization workshop in Brussels?

In a booming custom sneaker market where Decon/Recon pieces trade for several hundred to several thousand euros

mastering these techniques is a real advantage, whether you want to create for yourself, build a portfolio or launch a business. This Brussels workshop is one of the rare formats in Belgium to pass on these artisanal skills in an intensive, supervised and professional setting.

Can I cancel my registration and get a refund?

No. All registrations are firm, final and non-refundable, whatever the cancellation timeframe or the reason given. As spots are limited and materials are ordered individually in advance, no exception can be made. Registrations are also strictly personal: they cannot be transferred to a third party or moved to another session. We encourage you to make sure you are available before booking.
